SteriChek Product Code 811902.
Provides a convenient, accurate means of measuring low levels of total chlorine (i.e. total chloramines plus free chlorine) in feed water used to prepare dialysate. The test indicates that the level of total chlorine is below the maximum allowable concentration of 0.1 ppm (mg/l) for chloramine. The chloramine level will always be less than or equal to the total chlorine level.
The test kit will provide quantitative results in increments of 0.1 ppm utilizing the recognized standard method of analysis of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). The kit includes reagent, apparatus and a quality control measure for monitoring results. A result of 0.1 ppm or greater indicates that the water tested should not be used to prepare dialysate and that carbon absorption media utilized to remove excess levels of chloramines may need to be replaced.
Product Code 811902, SteriChek Total Chlorine Test Kit, includes one bag of 100 DPD powder pillows, two sample tubes, one Comparator including color wheel, and a product manual in 3 languages.
Product Code 811903, SteriChek Total Chlorine Test Kit Refill, includes five bags of 100 DPD powder pillows and a product manual in 3 languages.
SteriChek Product Code 811900.
Provides a convenient, accurate means of measuring the concentration of chlorine bleach remaining in water being used to rinse out dialysate lines following disinfection of hemodialysis equipment.
A rapid screening method will detect levels above 0.5 ppm (mg/l) and a 30-second quantitative method allows estimation of concentrations between 0 and 5 ppm.
The qualitative rapid screening method can be used to determine that chlorine has been adequately rinsed from the machine. The quantitative method may be useful where corrective measures are undertaken on machines dispensing unacceptable levels of chlorine for extended periods and for testing containers, i.e. “bicarb jugs”, disinfected with bleach.
Chlorine bleach detected in the rinse water is normally referred to as “residual chlorine”. The results of the test indicate the level of chlorine bleach remaining in the dialysate lines at any point during the rinsing process.
The SteriChek Residual Chlorine Reagent Strips are supplied in a ready-to-use form. When placed in contact with the rinse water, according to directions, the test area changes color relative to the amount of chlorine remaining in the rinse. Results of 0.5 ppm or above indicate that further rinsing in necessary.
Available in a kit of five bottles of 100 reagent strips with a product manual in 3 languages.
SteriChek Product Code 811912.
SteriChek Chlorine Control Tablets are for use in quality control procedures with Residual Chlorine Reagent Strips (811900), Total Chlorine DPD Test Kit (811902) & Total Chlorine DPD Refill Kit (811903).
Available in bottles of 50 control tablets.
SteriChek Product Code 811905.
SteriChek Residual Peroxide Reagent Strips provide a convenient, accurate means of measuring the concentration of residual peroxide in the rinse water from dialyzers and dialysate lines that are disinfected with peroxide/peracetic acid.
A qualitative rapid screening method with SteriChek strips detects residual disinfectant levels above 1 ppm (mg/l), used to determine if the disinfectant has been adequately rinsed from the machine.
A 15 second quantitative method may be used in situations where:

Provides a convenient, accurate means of measuring the concentration of peracetic acid in dialyzer reprocessing. Dialyzer samples for testing require no dilution or mixing. As a measure of safety, concentrations of 500 ppm (mg/l) will test negative and concentrations of 700 ppm and higher will test positive with SteriChek Peracetic Acid Reagent Strips. Peracetic acid is the primary active ingredient in Renalin® Dialyzer Reprocessing Concentrate. By testing dialyzers after storage with Renalin disinfectant, a positive reaction for peracetic acid will indicate a level of 500 ppm or greater is present.
Concentrations as low as 500 ppm have been proven to qualify as a sterilant.
The performance characteristics of SteriChek Peracetic Acid Reagent Strips are based on analytical studies using samples to which either peracetic acid or Renalin Dialyzer Reprocessing Concentrate was added to give a range of peracetic acid concentrations. A titrimetric procedure was used as the reference method.
Available in a kit of six bottles of 100 reagent strips with a product manual in 3 languages.
SteriChek Product Code 811911.
SteriChek® Sensitive Low-Range Water Hardness Reagent Strips provide a quick, convenient means of testing the level of hardness after the water-softener stage of the water treatment process. Hardness is the total concentration of calcium and magnesium, expressed as mg/l, ppm or grains/gallon of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Softening is a pretreatment process for water that will generally undergo further purification, such as reverse osmosis.
SteriChek Sensitive Low-Range Water Hardness Reagent Strips have color blocks at levels of 0, 5, 10 and 20 ppm (mg/l). (This correlates to 0, 0.3, 0.6, and 1.2 grains/gallon, respectively.) The test strips are supplied ready-to-use. The indicator pad changes color relative to the level of calcium and magnesium present when the strip is used according to the directions.
Available in a kit of six bottles of 50 reagent strips with a product manual in 3 languages.
SteriChek Product Code 811916.
Provides a convenient and accurate means of measuring the pH of bicarbonate concentrates and solutions of bicarbonate and acid.
The pH value is a measure of acidity or alkalinity of water. A pH of 7.0 is neutral; that is, there are neither hydrogen ions (no acidity) nor hydroxyl ions (no alkalinity) present. At pH of less than 7.0 there are hydrogen ions present (the solution is acidic). At pH greater than 7.0 there are hydroxyl ions present (the solution is alkaline).
Bicarbonate solutions are usually kept in a closed system or tightly covered container. If the bicarbonate solution is left open to the air, carbon dioxide gas begins to escape. The loss of carbon dioxide leads to an increase in alkalinity (pH) of the solution. To get an accurate measurement of pH of the closed system, the sample should be measured right away.
SteriChek Bicarb pH Reagent Strips indicate the pH at an immediate read time for samples warmed to temperatures of 32 to 40 degrees Celsius (90-104 degrees Fahrenheit). Samples at room temperature, 20-25 degrees Celcius (68-77 degrees Fahrenheit), can be read between 10 and 15 seconds. Comparing the color of the pad to the color chart on the bottle label provides the estimate of the pH.
Available in a kit of five bottles of 100 reagent strips with a product manual in 3 languages.
SteriChek Product Code 812014.
Provides a convenient and accurate means of detecting the presence of blood in dialysate.
Blood leak alarms can sound for reasons not related to an actual blood leak. SteriChek Blood Leak test strips will enable the user to determine if there is an actual blood leak, or if there is a false alarm.
Available in a kit of six bottles of 10 reagent strips with a product manual in 3 languages.
